GM Note: Avan if you run backwards 60 feet you will be about 50 feet out into the bay. Is this the action you wish to preform and if so please post a swim roll.

Avan will run to any point where he can find cover, I assume the beach would be a good place, and drop down.

You hear laughter erupt from the treeline. Arrows continue to sail from the treeline to your location.

Avan is able to find some cover behind a piece of driftwood, though it is not much. He is unable to see an arrow coming in from the sky and is hit by it in back (5 points of damage).

Asthelion is not encouraged when he hears the laughter and sees even more arrows heading his way and he turns to see Avan running away leaving him. As any sane person would do, the rogue makes the wise and tactful decision of putting his knees to the breeze and following his companion.

"Just so you know, we're not retreating from a bunch of sea thugs!", Asthelion shouts to Avan as his cavalier mood and adrenaline begins to kick in once more,"We're simply making a tactical retreat!"

GM Note: The ocean is to your back (10 feet), tree line in font of you, more open beach for about 100 feet to your right and open beach to your left. I just need to know which direction you are running.

"Shut your trap and get dOWWWWW!" Says Avan as an arrow sails into his back. "Where do you suppose we retreat to?" Avan asks. "The only place we would be able to defend ourselves from is the lighthouse."

Astheion groans as he weighs his options. The lighthouse is closer but they'd be trapped at the top. He and Avan could probably lose the pirates in the foliage off to the right but it would be quite the sprint through a gauntlet of arrows and other undesirables. He decided to take his chances with a sprint.

The rogue motions towards the foliage to his right, "Make for the trees! We might be able to lose them in there. Swimming might be a better option than running if you can manage it. Not me though!", and without waiting for an answer he begins doing serpentine maneuvers towards the trees so the pirates can't get a clear shot at him.

Avan backs off into the water and swims below its surface to avoid giving away his exact position. He makes his way to the foliage Asthelion pointed out.
