Sorry, I thought I posted before but either I hit the wrong button or it didn't post for some other reason.

The wooden structure looks more like a life guard tower than an actual defense tower. You can see straight threw to the other side, it doesn't have solid walls.

You hear nothing out of the ordinary.

Tails: Asthelion goes first.

Avan waits until the rogue is about 3/4 of the way up, then commences climbing.

You practically fly up the wooden structure making it safely to the top. Poking you head over the metal rim you know immediately the smell of burnt wood is coming from here. The smell blasts into your nostrils almost choking you.

Someone is using this tower to burn wood on top of. The metal plate covering the top is still warm. The smoldering ashes left over from the previous burn are radiating a very faint heat. It is only a few degrees, but from this you surmise the fire burnt out not even a full day ago at the most, if not sooner.

Because Asthelion had to go first, he takes his extra seconds at the top while Avan is climbing rapidly behind him to pull up a cloth that is part of his garb around his nose and mouth to filter the smoke and search for anything unusual... Besides piles of ashes and the acrid smell of smoke.

There is nothing else of note at the top. Just a burnt out fire on top of a makeshift wooden tower.

Avan carries no water, and resorts to using his leather armor and cloth garb to cover the ashes and extinguish them.

Survival(to not burn his clothes +0): 9

Using his height advantage, Avan has a look around the tower for any landmarks on land, taking extra time to look out at the sea to look for shipwrecks and especially the lighthouse.

spot(+1): 19

In Avan's quick thinking, he assumes that this tower is a fake lighthouse, designed to lure any incoming ships closer to land and he says so to Asthelion.

Asthelion considers the idea and agrees. A burning pyre on this structure would certainly provide for a bright beacon to a weary helmsman. As Avan gazes at the structures surroundings and the island in general, Asthelion rifles through the cooler ashes in search of anything that was burnt along with the wood that would be out of the ordinary.

Avan activity at the lighthouse is non-existent. You see no discernible clues forthcoming, from the lighthouse, bay, or otherwise. At this point you notice your cloth garb is beginning to catch fire and has holes burnt threw it. Your leather armor getting warmer and is a little charred. Your attempt to put out the hot embers seems to be only fueling them.

Asthelion, searching threw the ashes and coals you find a few small nails.
