Matrix Culture?

Matrix

Has the Matrix movies had any impact in your culture or the people you associate with? You might think it is a weird question, but really it is not. On TV they have a lot of comedies based on the Matrix and common talk on the street usually dwells on some kind of Matrix move where some will actually refer to each other using the names of characters. Of course one of the most obvious ways is the use of the shades.

I know at my work we joke about everyday things and their relation to the 'Matrix'. For example, one of my buddies got rid of his telephone and switched to a cell phone, so we told him he was now 'unplugged' and did not have a 'hard line' so he could not get in and out of the Matrix. Geeky, yes, but thats what happens to you if you stare at a computer screen for too long.

Matrix Culture? RPG Plugged Trilogy Matrix

Matrix

Long after the films I still see Matrix memorabilia and terms live and current on the net with some discussion Forums dedicated to the Trilogy very active. It has not died at all online, but I can't say I see any evidence of it in reality, especially here in Argentina.

I don't believe we can talk about a Matrix culture. Matrix has its community of fans (a big one I might add), but I don't think you can call it a culture.
