Out of Character: Sorry Ken that message was really for Malcolmshaw about not posting within the two day limit. But anyways if someone wants to take hostages while the other simply gives up that will be like a serious conflict so better to trash it out first before putting actions.
Out of Character: Artemis is a little firebug isn't she. You'll need to beware that in these scenarios not everything is about killing. Most of the time when you decide to do that it doesn't end well.
Perhaps you're right. We'll give diplomacy a try. Honesty, I don't want to kill anybody. I just figured we could bargain more effectively if we had something to bargain with.
I actually feel sympathy for these natives. If our mission succeeds, the mining company will strip mine this planet, destroy the environment, and commit cultural genocide. And laugh while they're doing it.
I don't want that. If I could, I'd walk out of this jungle, expose our employers, and bring this whole rotten operation down.
But you have a date with a stew pot, and I don't know when the dinner bell is going to ring, and I'm really trying to save you. So please forgive me if I'm going a little nuts.
By the way, it's kind of funny that you called me a firebug, because burning down the village was a plan I had considered. I just hadn't worked out all the details. Yet.
Out of Character: Burn the village down? Your Artemis is not a firebug, your Artemis is a grenade! The mission is to be like tourists and get information without anyone really knowing we were there. Seriously though is that style just what you're used to or is it that Artemis is a natural born killer?
Of course not. I'm a lover, not a fighter. If smiles and kisses are the price of freeing you, I'll gladly pay that.
But in my experience, people are more likely to be reasonable when you give them a reason to be.
My understanding of the situation is that you're being held captive. And you seem oddly calm about that. So I'm going along with the group consensus, which appears to be "Let's walk to the village, and hope something good happens".
And I really hope something good does happen. But I'd feel more confident if we were all doing something to make a positive outcome more likely.
