[review] Ultimate Matrix Dvd Collection

Well, as I had mentioned the first day I heard about this, I ponied up and bought myself an early Christmas present. The Ultimate Matrix DVD Collection is just that; Ultimate. It includes all three films, of course, plus a Revisited DVD for each one. It also includes the Animatrix DVD which I enjoy quite thoroughly. That only accounts for 7 DVD discs, which means there are 3 more DVD's of chuck full material and action; none of which I have been able to view so far.
I started this discussion so that others could ask questions about the collection, or, if they have bought it, provide comments etc. One of the features I am very interested in viewing, and listening to are the commentaries for each of the films. Contrary to how most other DVD movies are produced, the commentary here is quite different; they don't have actors, or the directors doing the commentary, instead they have critics! Yes, critics who bash the film left and right! The reasoning behind this was to give the viewer the other side of the story, from a perspective that they may have never thought of themselves. The Wachowski brothers did this intentionally with the purpose of getting their fans to love and appreciate the films even more. A kind of reverse psychology so to speak. Anyway, I can't wait to hear what these critics have to say, and I will keep you posted as I do. Feel free to add comments or questions here about the collection.

Collection Dvd Matrix Ultimate review

At first I was excited, but I do not know if this is really worth the buy because it seems to be commentaries more than anything else. I thought they would have added specific footage not seen in the movies (like a director's cut). What you think Malexander, if you already have the three DVDs of the originals would it be worth buying this also?

Yes I agree JB. If you already own the three movies then this may not be worth it. That is specifically the reason why I chose to wait until this was released and didn't buy the original releases. Plus you get the Animatrix DVD with this set, which is definitely worth it. I haven't gone through the bonus discs yet, but when I do I plan to write about them here.

That is what I figured. The only thing I am interested in is the Game footage which I think is included with the set? Either way it should be really nice playing.

Offtopic but, Have you played the game? If so, can you post a review in the thread already started about it?
