As the frog goes deeper into the water Zork retreats to be on land. If the frog tries to strike its tongue again then he will try to cut it off. When on land again Zork will then take out his bow.
Zork retreats, allowing the frog a parting attack. It bites (Zork 6 damage) and its sharp teeth hold Zork by the left leg, preventing his movement. Zork ineffectually slashes out at it.
Theaton brings his sword down, cutting into its side and spilling its blood in the pool. Its legs shudder, as Zork feels its mouth let go of him. It remains there floating in the middle of the pool as you swim to the shallow edge to retrieve your bows.
Out of Character: That puts Zork at -2HP because he started with 9 even after the last healing from the previous battle so I guess Zork is unconscious or dead or dying?
Out of Character: You should be fully healed Source 9y and also be gaining your level in hit points each night, so 2 HP times 2 nights.
At negative hit points you would be unconscious. You die when your negative hit points reaches your constitution score. That said, being unconscious in water isn't safe.
So take an action and Jhod heals you as he returns from scouting just downriver of the pool.
The other frog is on the opposite side of the pool, slowly crawling away on all fours. Do you chase it? Do you coup de grace the one in the pool?
Zork begins searching the surrounds, there is nothing apart from mud running off in the rain, lily pads and wet leaves, and a healthy blackberry bush with large fruit.
Out of Character: Silly English language and its ambiguity. If only I had written 'will do' instead of did. Feel free to look at the cleric class so you know what Jhod's capable of, then you can make more specific requests.
At the moment, Zork is trying to get warm and dry his interest in the frogs fades fast as he has no pity on any creature that would choose to drown or swallow him. He looks at Theaton to see what he will do.
