For those who have it, your infravision shows that the corpses are all room temperature and no details can be made. The ceiling, however, is covered in bats. They appear agitated by your presence and are on the verge of swarming.
I suggest anyone using a light source including myself we try and shield the light the best we can hopefully the bats will get use to it and prevent a swarming.
Out of Character: That is the info I was looking for since my last post ;)
In Character: Hunter whispers, "People, there are loads of bats on the cieling and they might be the vampire variety so let's say we backup here and move to some place a little less intimidating and that has a better smell."
Hunter uses his best sight to see into the corridor to the north and the one to the west. If he can't see anything in either he will try the one west first.
Hunter moves backwards slowly and softly being careful not to face away from the bats.
Jonathon would nod in agreement with the others, stepping back slowly himself while keeping his eyes somewhat focused on all the dead bodies. He wondered how they died and who may of brought such a massacre. Sighing, raising his torch high once they were out of sight of the bats, he would say, "Lets see what else we find." Hunter has a thought that he does not express but he has a feelings that if they were left there just like that it might be they are to be used for some purpose.... Either as zombies or someone's meal. Afraid of sounding paranoid he keeps it to himself.
The corridor leading to the west seems to have been the scene of a fighting retreat, and here you can see where the defenders were brought to bay. This 30' X 30' room was the site of a desperate struggle. The green skinned humanoids whose bodies litter the place seem to have lost, slashed and clawed to death by their undead foes. Several human skeletons, their dry bones broken or smashed, are here as well, collapsed into untidy heaps. In a few cases, it seems as if the desperate humanoids had been reduced to biting at their foes, trying to break their bones with the huge teeth in the jutting lower jaw. The human remains seem much older then the humanoid bodies, which while far-gone cannot have been dead more than a few weeks. Rats scurry for cover as you approach but stop a safe distance off, ready to return to their interrupted meal.
Hunter looks it over and in fear says, "You know what, I think this place is bigger than us, what happened here is bigger than us. I do not see someone bringing someone they kidnapped to here unless it was to add to the corpses. I think we need to leave this place now."
Hunter moves back to the center and near the cave's entrance. While there he inspects the ground and cave walls to see if there are any clues about who comes and goes from there.
