Just to reiterate, there was no sign of the shy tower on your trip back to the caves.
You arrive at the caves once again before mid-morning. This time, the party targets the northern-eastern cave on the north slope.
The cave opening here is surrounded by niches cut into the rock, each of which holds a severed head. Some are human, some dwarf, some elf, and some humanoid. Of the humanoid heads you recognize one as a kobold, two as goblin, and one or two as orc, even though you haven't seen any orcs in the area... Yet. Only one of the niches, just to the right of the cave entrance, is empty. Someone has scrawled writing over it in rain washed chalk. Delgar is able to make out that it says, 'Reserved'.
There is no sight or sound of life from within.
Thane plays with his beard.
"Could it be that each of these caves has a different race to encounter? Or are they they telling us these are the races they've killed?" He says loosely and then attempts to check for traps.
If he does not find anything he will light up his lantern and point the bulls-eye deep inside to see what he can make out.
"Well it says reserved hopefully not for my head" Delgar chuckles quietly next he will light up a torch and then wait for thane to check for any traps." Whatever is in there it looks like they do not care who you are they will kill any and everyone so do I need to say lets be very careful"
As Thane searches he realizes that the back of the niche that has the writing is actually a heavy dark piece of cloth. He carefully pushes it aside just enough to see into the area beyond. He spies a room with a table, three chairs, and two humans and a halfing all dressed in leather armor and all armed with a short sword and daggers. They appear to be playing cards and arguing about the rules of the game. (Updated map will be posted shortly)
Thane motions to the others of what he sees. He also plans for an immediate ambush so they have no time to gather what is going on. When everyone is ready he blows open the curtain and enters with everyone having their weapons on a target.
"Don't move if you want to play another card game!"
If they don't move Thane will question their reasons for being there, what they are doing, how many of them are in the cave, etc.
If they do not move or attempt to flee Ardo will try to get on a flank. After Thane's little speech Ardo will add. "The first person to scream get's their blood turned into acid by our mage for a horrible and painful death."
If they attempt to flee or fight, Ardo will toss a Warhammer at the farthest one and will keep throwing Warhammers and try to hit the same person again until he is dead.
