Thane searches room 7, if its clear he says to the party, "We have three rooms to interview three prisoners. The questions should all be the same:
1. Who is in the cave?
2. Where is the treasure?
3. What they know about the surrounding area?
4. What will they do if we let them go?
The last question is for good measure, always nice to keep the hope up."
As you go about interrogating the prisoners, you get three different sets of answers to your questions.
Bandit #1:
1) Just us, you've killed the whole group.
2) I don't know where the treasure is kept.
3) I only know from here to the road. We sometimes go to the keep for supplies, but mostly we just go to the road to ambush merchants.
4) I would leave, and never come back.
Bandit #2:
1) Just us bandits. (When further questioned about additional members of the group he replies:) Nobody worth mentioning.
2) Up the sloping passage and to the right.
3) Besides the road and keep, there are other groups of creatures that inhabit the caves. As long as we keep to ourselves, they don't bother us.
4) I'd leave and never come back.
Bandit #3:
Doesn't respond to any of your questions.
Thane meets back with the rest of the party after the interrogation. They are lying so here's what we do. We go back and tell them that we will only let one go and the rest will unfortunately die. We can only let the one that tells the truth live. Then we need to say that one told them about the other bandit being a liar and stuff and ask them the same questions again to see if the answers change.
"I find it interesting that the one is not saying anything. I think he knows more than the other two. I say we question him further see if we get any answers out of him. As for the other two I think they are telling us what they want to get let go."
Out of Character: Everyone isn't here including the Dungeon Master so Thane's plan may only go ahead in the new year I think and according to you if everyone else agrees.
Out of Character: : I'm here, just waiting for what specifically you're going to do. If you're going to interrogate each one, which one are you starting with, what specifically are you going to tell him, and what are you going to do with the others while you're dealing with the current bandit?
