Brennic makes the trip back in high spirits. Despite the horrible and treacherous monsters the group prevailed and there is hope. He will be whistling a ditty, "The Chandler's Wife" and looks forward to reaching Brixia and letting the folk know they are safe from a danger they were possibly unaware of.
Aerendyl dawdles a little on the way back, slipping a bit further back and looking down at the path more than usual - he still feels some aching in his head from where the pommel struck him. He glances up at the others now and then, and doesn't say much.
Alexi walks at the head of the party and remains vigilant about his surroundings not engaging in much conversation with his comrades aside from occasionally asking for Aerendyl's guidance in traversing the forest and maintaining a sense of proper direction of travel in order to find their way back to the hamlet. Seeing Aerendyl occasionally fall to the rear of the group and look back along the path Alexi asks him if he sees something; why does he keep looking down that path?
