Cadmus' eyes blink swiftly in the smoky air as he awakens. Seeing himself enveloped in near-darkness, he instinctively draws upon the merest flicker of his god's power, casting a light cantrip upon his holy symbol. When that only makes the smoke more opaque, he banishes the light again with a thought.

He regards the party. "Greetings! You must be the others Jyratis spoke of. The Morninglord must approve of you, for I feel my nerves calmed in your presence. I am Cadmus Olgarian, a servant of Lathander Brightest-Light. If you also shared in the affliction that had ravaged me, I pity you."

He rises to his feet. Standing tall for a human (A bit over six feet) he wears the well-fashioned and sturdy clothes of a wandering cleric of Lathander, the brilliant yellow and crimson a bit stained from travel and recent travel in the sewers. His silver holy symbol flickers upon his breast, and bundled at his feet are the padding and metal scales of his armor, his well-used mace, and a crossbow and bolt-case. Upon further inspection, he has a deep tan from long days spent in the sun, warm brown eyes, long blonde sun-bleached hair tied back in a functional pony-tail, a quick disarming smile, and a rather soft frame - not fat, but not muscular. He does carry himself with dignity, spine rigid-straight even when discovered sleeping in a hovel.

"What say you? Shall we sally forth and help these poor benighted folk in their difficulties?"

He turns and bows deeply to the hunched figure. "You have my thanks and deep gratitude for the miracle you have wrought, Jyratis. Call upon me anytime else you need aid, and I shall lend the power of my god to the task."

The Repentant Soldier says...

Seeing that the little creatures have not attacked and appear to be peaceful Alexi sheathes his sword as they enter the hut though he remains somewhat anxious. The others would probably notice that Alexi shifts uncomfortably while in the hut and seems very uncomfortable with the smoke filling the room; he cannot get out of the hut fast enough in his mind as the smoke brings his past to the forefront of his mind.

The image of villages similar to this one, sacked and burned and the people there slaughtered, fills his memory. He remembers his role in this past and can't help but associate these little creatures with his victims. When Jyratis describes their woes Alexi listens with interest and almost immediately he feels a strange connection with these creatures and his past. The thought of these creatures suffering a fate similar to the villages of his past causes a odd mixture of anxiety, sadness, and anger.

"We would be happy to help" Alexi announces without realizing that he has essentially answered for the party as a whole. He turns to Cadmus as the man stirs and again feeling an odd sort of connection he nods in agreement to Cadmus' announcement. "We also have suffered from these dreams. There is strength in numbers, perhaps together we can uncover the meaning of these nightmares and bring them to an end, and help these people in the meantime."

Cadmus begins to buckle on his armor with a practiced hand. He hefts his mace, affixing it to his belt, checks his crossbow to assure himself that it is undamaged, and stows his quarrels.

"Ready when you are! Let us uncover this hidden menace and shine the light on what dark deeds lay there!"

Unaccustomed to be being wakened by chatter, Skreed bolts to his feet, forgetting where he is for a moment and hitting his head on the ceiling of the hut.

His eyes quickly adjust to the smokey dimness of the room and he regards three strange figures standing across from Jyratis. Bounty hunters... he assumes at first, pulling the hood of his cloak over his face to cover the scar left there by his erstwhile master. It only takes a moment, however, for the lumbering Goliath to recognize something empathetic in these strangers... The spent look in their eyes and torment written across their faces. Could the walking man visit them as well? How many more could be afflicted by these dreams?

"Who are these ones?" He directs simultaneously at Cadmus and Jyratis.

Cadmus turns his smile up to the hooded Goliath. "Friends they are, perhaps, through the same suffering you and I shared. We all seek relief from the same pains, it seems. In gratitude for the relief that good Jyratis has given us, we were going to stop a force that is causing the rats in his tunnels to grow monstrous. Your might would be welcome, I am certain."

He then looks the group over with care, taking stock of wounds and injury. [Shall I roll a Medicine skill check, or is it too obvious?]

[welcome back Rhovador, glad to see you are still here]

With Seven people including Jyratis now standing in the hut it is somewhat crowded as the conversation continues.
Alexi, the moment you come out of your reverie the smoke now avoids your face, and you now longer smell it. Jyratis shoots you an empathetic look as well.

"To answer what I wish to, shall be the path I wish to take. Hee hee, please do not ask too much about us, knowledge is one of our strengths and It shall be kept that way. Our missing friends you have faced, they are not in the best of health. If you did not already guess, I have powers to achieve my ends that I would rather keep to myself.

"This? This little trinket?" She blows gently on the gem....it starts emanating faint light, continuing to blow, the crystal flares up putting even your light to shame Cadmus, she stops and it dims down and goes out once more. "A Gem of brightness this is, I thought you might like it." It is an angular shaped crystal in a rough egg shape, however it has flat sides. It is almost transparent, but does have a blue hue to it when not lit. "You shall receive it upon your successful return."

Cadmus you look over the entire party
You know that Skreed and yourself are healthy, Gradard and Brennic look scratched and cut, but Rhovador is sporting a nasty calf injury and is suffering somewhat.

Brennic has a look in the pouch he was given.
It contains dust, a small amount of dust. If you ask Jyratis what it is she just smiles, while looking at Gradard, not saying anything.

"Now, one last thing before you go." It appears as if you have outstayed your welcome with the questions. "Seek out the weaver of time, I feel that he has a part to play somewhere. I do not know where he is, he ....resists... Me."

When you are all ready you leave her hut and are escorted by the same child (She giggles when she catches Gradard with her eyes again briefly) out another tunnel in the side of the cavern for a short ways and then stops. "Follow this tunnel and take the third left, then the second right, you should find the rogue (They are not using rogue in the class sense but in the he is a criminal sense) there, but be careful, he has some nasty spells!"

[Now is a great time to sort out marching order or feel free to do actions before you come out here first.]

"Perhaps we should rest a bit first. That looks as if it needs tending, if not a full curing spell," He says, gesturing to the ranger's leg.

Though he does not possess a healer's kit (Need to remedy that), Cadmus is willing to tend to the groups' wounds.

Skreed draws a torch from his pack and sets it alight. "One who can see better should lead. I walk behind Cadmus."

He eyes the small humanoid among his new traveling companions dubiously. Observing to himself, This one bears the scent of lightning and brimstone... He is reminded of the heretics banished from his tribe for using witchcraft and dark arts when he was a boy. They could not be trusted, the elders insisted.

Could this little man?
