I believe the issue has been resolved. You should be able to go into your character sheet, update the character, and there will be a tab for a Mongoose Traveller character generator that should work. If everyone could resubmit using the Mongoose generator please and update their character sheets.

Were those numbers generated by the character generator? The skill levels are very high. In Traveller is a character has no skill rank he is untrained and suffers a -3DM to rolls associated with that skill. A skill of 0 means that they are competent but largely inexperienced and they suffer no bonus or penalty to their rolls, level 1 means they are trained in that skill. "Each rank represents several years of experience using that skill. "A character with Level 2-3 in a skill is a skilled professional in that field. A character with Medic 2 could be a doctor; a character with Medic 4 is a famous surgeon or specialist." (Pg. 51)

Seeing Computers 4, Medic 4, and Life Sciences 3 I think is rare, even with six terms.

Each term you get one skill, you may gain another from events, you may gain a specific skill when your character achieves a certain rank (For example, you gained medic at skill level 1 when you achieved rank 1), and you roll again for skills/training when and if you advance.

Term 1

Shuth starts as a Scholar/Physician, he gains all the service skills at rank 0. From what I gather the roll on the skills/training chart gave him 1 rank in Social Science and the event gives him a +2 dice modifier on his advancement. He rolls high enough to advance to rank 1 as a physician which automatically gives him Medic at skill rank 1 then he can roll again on the skills and training because he advanced and gains investigate 1.

By the end of Term 1 his skills are: Comms 0; Computers 0; Diplomat 0; Medic 1; Investigate 1; Life Science 0; Social Science 1

Term 2

He rolls on the skill table and gets 1 rank in medic (Bringing total to Medic 2) the event references gaining a skill at rank 1 rather than another rank in the skill. In other words, if his medic rank was 0 at the time and he rolled this event it would go to rank 1, but since he is already at rank 2 it does not go to rank 3. Instead it looks like he gained Computers 1. He advances to a rank 2 physician and rolls on the table giving him a rank in diplomacy.

By the end of Term 2 his skills are: Comms 0; Computers 1; Diplomat 1; Medic 2; Investigate 1; Life Sciences 0; Social Science 1

Term 3
Shuth rolls on skill table and gets medic (Bringing total to medic 3); the life event gives him a +1 SOC but he does not advance to physician rank 3 and so he does not roll again on the skill table

Skills at the end of term 3: Comms 0; Computers 1; Diplomat 1; Medic 3; Investigate 1; Life Sciences 0; Social Science 1

Term 4
Gains +1 EDU and in the events gains a +1DM to benefit roll when he musters out, he advances to physician rank 3 and gains a skill rank in a Life Sciences, he would also gain Life Science 1 but he already has rank 1, he gains no other skills this term but he avoids the effects of aging.

Skills at the end of term 4: Comms 0; Computers 1; Diplomat 1; Medic 3; Investigate 1; Life Science 1; Social Science 1

Term 5
Gains 1 rank in Computer (Bringing total to 2); event means he is automatically promoted to rank 4 physician; I think the skill he gained from this roll is in medic?

Skills at end of term 5: Comms 0; Computers 2; Diplomat 1; Medic 4; Investigate 1; Life Sciences 1; Social Science 1

Term 6
Gains +1 Dexterity and gains a rank in Life Science as a result of the event. He advances in rank to physician rank 5 (He could take Social Science 1 in another specialty field) and then rolls and gains a rank in physical sciences

End of character creation skills: Comms 0; Computers 2; Diplomat 1; Medic 4; Investigate 1; Life Sciences 1; Social Sciences 1, Social Sciences 1, Physical sciences 1

Again the sciences are specialty skills which means they are broken down further into more specific fields of study, and the ranks need to be distributed among these specialties.

Appearance and Personality:

Maiokus stands about 5’ 9” tall and appears to weigh around 175 lbs. He has dark, closely cropped hair, gray eyes, a perpetual 5 o’clock shadow and a light brown skin tone. He is lean and athletic. Though he won’t be winning any strong man competitions, he does appear to be able to hike or run for some distance. His brow is creased from frowning, which he tends to do often - especially when deep in thought. His eyes are bright though, with an intelligence that betrays his casual and rough speech patterns. The right side of his neck, right shoulder and going down to just below his elbow is marred with burn scars from an old injury.

Maiokus's harsh background and lack of post-primary education are likely to be the first one notices about his personality. His background working in the anti-corporate militias has informed his ideology and world view. He is cynical and staunchly anti-corporate. However, he is sympathetic to those exploited by the wealthy and greedy. Despite his years as a war fighter, he is hoping to have some semblance of peace away from it all. He enjoys a good drink and is loyal to those who he works with. He can be distrustful of strangers but tries to be fair in his dealings.

Traits: Loyal, Cynical, Ideological, Fair, Rough around the edges

Yes the character generator gave me the rolls I used for strength, endurance, dexterity, edu, social and intelligence. I think I understand the way the rolls work now thanks for taking the time to explain it better for me. I will adjust everything and get my physical attributes now. I wanted to get the history done first.

Doctor Shuth is a average sized human standing at 5 foot 10 inches. He has pale skin associated with one who has spent a lot of time indoors. He has blonde hair that is almost shoulder length. He weights 185 lbs and has blue eyes. He is a well educated doctor and his time doing research and working on people has helped him to become a great doctor. He is now looking to make another name for himself as he looks for his next adventure as a doctor.

Everything seems to be coming along; character creation in Traveller can be a bit confusing and drawn out, especially when there are several different systems to sort through; please bear with me. I am close to having the opening post on the Main Role-playing Game thread up, but I want to get everyone's character sheet in line for the most part first. They don't have to be perfect as we can adjust a little as we move forward.

Fusil
I'm not sure what happened to the Scout character, but you may try re-rolling using the mongoose generator since I believe the first one was using the Megatraveller generator.

Malcombshaw
If I can get you to re-roll using the Mongoose Generator; the Megatraveller Generator it seems assigns Special Duty which in Mongoose is translated as Life Events but they handle skills differently. Special Duty grants another roll while Life Events do not necessarily grant bonus rolls. In Life Events the character may gain a skill, or they may gain something else. In the end, I do not think the number of skills match up between the two systems. That is why I would need you to re-roll using the Mongoose generator. I apologize, I know it's a pain.

Manual rolls are fine with me, you don't have to use the generator if you have the book or are able to generate an appropriate character manually.So far as I can tell your character looks good to go and you can post in the Main Thread once the opening post is up.

Aericsteele, I did re-roll using the MM Mongoose Traveller Char Gen. Character came out an Agent, involved in corporate espionage. Unless the Character Sheet didn't save correctly, in which case I will gladly reload it.
