First things first… Corren's expenses are modest. He does not come from money, and is saving what he can. He may or may not have plans for what he intends to use his money for…

As to what sort of adventure, well, I am actually fairly easy to please. I like action, exploration, intrigue (Big fan of espionage etc.), swashbuckling, mystery… and as a GM I know how tough it can be to get all the elements into one adventure, so as long as one or two get in there, I am good.

I would like to discuss with Kyrroeth offline some aspects of Corren and Zinna's relationship. I am going to try using the Personal Message thing in your profile to start a chat about it.

EDITED: I can only use Personal Message if I pay to subscribe, which I am trying to avoid at this time. And apparently I can not create a private thread. So I might as well do it here.

Kyrroeth, how do you wish to play Corren and Zinna's relationship for now? Did the night make things awkward for her? Or do you wish to role-play it in the thread?

Paul, I think she will feel a little awkward. She was pretty drunk and might not remember everything. She does like Corren and it was a big step forward for them. She is more than willing to be in a relationship with Corren. I feel that we need to move their relationship forward before the next adventure begins. We can rp it more in the thread if you wish. I wish we had somewhere else to rp it. I don't want the other players to feel weird about it. What do you think?

I agree. A bit awkward, and they can even agree to take things slowly. I am already composing a post in my head where he tells her that he would definitely like to get closer to her, but as the nominal team leader, he will have to make sure he gives her no special consideration, no special treatment when it comes to their positions as the Defenders of Clear Creek. You can start formulating how you will eventually reply. I can see some really good posts going on here.

But since it seems that all posting must be public, and I don't want to slow things down for the others as well, maybe we can start a separate thread. We could use it for stuff between the two of them, and that way the others can read it, but don't have to worry about it. We could for now use it to see where things go as winter is progressing, and even keep it going to a logical pause point at the same time the next adventure plays out in the main thread. But for all that we need the blessing of our Dungeon Master.

I had addressed some of my views regarding romance in role playing games in this thread: Source 6u

I would prefer that relationships between party members be carried out in a separate thread, in part because of the potential it would have to take focus away from the adventure. The small flirtations and interactions that have been carried out so far have not been an issue yet because they have not been the primary focus of the player's posts.

I would also say that, if Zinna and Corren began a relationship in a more modern day situation Tywin would put a stop to it pretty quick once he found out because being the under sheriff Corren is in a position of authority in regards to Zinna. Romantic relationships bring with them drama and may be a threat to unit cohesion, especially when there is a relationship between a superior and a subordinate.

In modern day culture (At least American culture) a relationship between a subordinate and their superior is considered sexual harassment per se. I know this only because our local sheriff was having an affair with one of the staff at the jail here and all the county employees had the pleasure of sitting through an entire day of learning about sexual harassment.

However; the setting is not modern day and the concept of sexual harassment has not necessarily been developed in the culture yet. If Corren and Zinna want to pursue it further in another thread that is fine, you just need to run it by the sites admin.

Thank you for clarifying how you would like us to handle this situation. But I do have another question. Do we need to get the permission of the admins? I see the option to start a thread, and could conceivably just start it that way.

A suggestion for the next adventure:

A Priest of the Imperial Church arrived in Clear Creek bearing a letter from Grand Priestess Lusia Sisenna, Vicar of the Province of Vicaea (Of which Clear Creek and Vollandar are a part) announcing that the Imperial Church in Asendar has received instructions from the Most High Priest to increase the missionary operations of the Church, especially in the frontier regions.

It is the will of the Maker that all peoples from every nation should come to recognize the truth of the Maker and the authority of his Church. The Empire of Asendar is the chosen vessel of the Maker and it has been made known to the Most High Priest that the Empire is destined eventually to rule over all nations on the continent. A priest has been sent to Clear Creek to pave the way for the Church’s mission in the Scolandi Wilds starting with the Lighthair Tribe in Dermista. The Defenders of Clear Creek are tasked with escorting the priest to Dermista and assisting him in his mission there.

I concur. Corren is not particularly religious either, and he is definitely a live-&-let-live type. But if we have to escort someone through the wilds, he can go along with that. Try to keep everyone involved from killing one another…
