Quick question, is it just the exit of the tunnel that's mudded up? Or a really large portion of the tunnel. The wording of the post leads me to believe that it's the former.

Its tough to say, the mud starts about 20 feet from where you recall the exit being. If the rest of it is as thick as what you can see from where you are, its pretty effectively blocked off.

It seems rather likely that a strong burrowing animal could make it through just fine. Next question is likely whether that animal could clear a path for others. That's more problematic, the mud is slick and loose enough that any tunnels are likely to collapse right away.

You could in theory work to shift the mass of the blockage down the tunnel bit by bit. But that will take a great deal of time.

Nope, no one made it out, Perry and Mari went up first, but it takes a fair bit of time to get through that tunnel.
