Before drifting off, Avan sets up his tent and bedroll with extra additions he learned by surviving in the forests.
Avan is happy to be on last watch. Mr Fluffles keeps a lookout for 1 hour as Avan prepares spells (If he thinks it will get really cold he swaps Speak with Animals for Endure Elements). After the hour, Avan also pays attention to his surrounds, stoking the fire when necessary.
Out of Character: Rolling Survival to:
1) Predict weather
2) Avoid severe weather in the night (Helping others if he rolls high enough in this order: Mr Fluffles, Faerydae, Albrecht, Krusten, and the rest randomly).
After finishing the book, Avan had a lot more time to spend maintaining his equipment, caring for his cat and keeping watch while moving. With the new information, he focused his senses, staring out the arrow slit.
After finding the tracks, Tilantre asked the other ranger to go ask the others if they wanted to follow the tracks. While the other ranger was gone Tilantre studied the tracks in more depth, checking to see if he can recognize what type of creature made the track. Edited: Nosaj on 6th Jun, 2016 - 2:42am
Zork halts the war wagon. He asks Krusten to send her hawk in the general area of the tracks.
"We need to ascertain what's in this area so we are not ambushed."
Out of Character: If it turns out that the tracks are simply old and does not lead to anything significant then he will order the war wagon forward.
Albrecht is excited to finally see tracks after all this trudging north. He didn't expect to have to travel quite this far to find these bandits, but he wasn't part of the original party to hear the information. He was glad to finally have some confirmation the adventure was not in vain and to see some of the new territory to the north.
Coming up beside Tilantre, Albrecht also investigates the tracks to determine what kind of humanoid creature might have made them. He also has Champ sniff the air to see if the creatures are still close enough to be an immediate threat.
Out of Character:By having Champ sniff the air for immediate danger, I am having him sniff the tracks and then see if the same smell is still close enough to be found. I would expect him to turn and growl in the direction of the scent, should it still be around, or just wander in circles sniffing if there is nothing to find. I assume it is still a spot check to sniff for something as there is no "Sniff" skill. The survival roll for Champ is to 'track' the direction of the scent.
Krusten looks at the driver when Zork stops the wagon and says, "I hope these tracks don't take us to yet another druid." She sighs, puts a boot up and while playing with her bow's string she continues, "I need something to shoot."
Specific Action: Krusten keeps an eye out while sending her birdie up to look in the area Zork suggested.
With the rangers up ahead Zork figures there is enough time between them seeing someone and having time to prepare the wagon so he orders the driver forward.
