While it may not seem to be a natural rock formation, Avan tries to determine just how unnatural it is from afar and what could have formed it. He searches for clues and checks for tracks.
Getting up the next morning, Albrecht breaks camp and gets ready to move out. Being at the back of the pack, he's one of the last to notice the burning wagons. He joins everyone else as they warily try to determine what happened to the wagons and where these rocks could have come from.
Out of Character: The survival check from Champ is to sniff for any enemies or other unnatural smells that may be around the area. I have all his skill points here, but understand if the burning wagons add an environmental modifier that is not included here.
Zork rubs his chin.
"Could this be from a catapult or dropped from above?"
He sees this as a warning sign that anything could happen from here on out.
Out of Character: Besides the road to the mountains what is to the east and west?
Krusten checks the angle of the boulder's impact to see which direction the came. She looks for evidenced of dried blood, foot or horse prints, etc. She will also do a sweep of the immediate area off the road.
The most Faerydae can do is hope the trip from here on does not mean they will be faced with an enemy so great that they will meet their death too soon. She says her prayers for safety and protection.
Krusten comments, "They may be using catapults and have a large army. Still want to go forward?" Even though she says that she is already facing north ready to move on.
Faerydae replies to Krusten, "Well, we have come this far so let's see what they have for us." She starts her horse forward.
"No, not catapults," Avan says in a grave tone. "There are no track but we have large footprints. I fear the creatures that did this work - they might be giants - or worse."
"Let's hope they took what they needed from this raid before us. With luck, they won't bother us."
Out of Character: So both the road and the tracks head north? That is, is there a pass in the mountains that the road heads into?
