Avan prays for his spells, packs up and sets off back to town, riding in the center of the group with bow in hand. Edited: iCon on 25th Oct, 2016 - 1:45pm
Thankful for a peaceful night, Faerydae arises in good spirits, offers prayers and then hopes for the same on the way back to town. During the journey she says, "I do not know what is telling me this… but I feel as though there are others who will soon join us."
Aliana holds her breath for a moment when she sees the hobgoblin. Watching for a moment it looks to be working on something. Biting her lip for a moment she considers the situation. Knowing she has not seen enough for their purpose out here she creeps slowly closer from tree to tree to see what the hobgoblin is up to.
Zork comes forward to both greet and check out the caravan to see if they seem to be genuine. He asks, in which direction they are going and if they know anything of the fort.
Krusten observes as Zork goes over to talk with the guards. She does a sweep of the caravan on the opposite side while holding her bow loosely. At some point she will causally check the people and goods inside.
"Well, the fort is off the main road," Avan says. "I don't expect many to know it."
He addresses the caravan as a whole, not keeping any secrets from the guards (Whom Avan believes would be underpaid for such a risky job). "Just be wary as you head north. We saw a destroyed caravan smashed by something heavy, and some boulders off to the side which had landed from elsewhere. There were footprints of something large and evidence of movement in the pass, but we did not catch a glimpse of the source. We did receive a barbaric warning though - the decapitated head of some poor soul. It was enough to turn us back."
His intent is to inform, not to intimidate or turn the guards against the merchants. But if they demand a better pay, he will support them. Otherwise he tries to defuse any situation that arises.
Albrecht watches the caravan approach warily. He doesn't have much to add beyond what Zork and Avan say. He stays back ready to fight if tensions rise, but hoping it doesn't come to that. He is ready to get back to the city and get to something they could handle.
