I would of done the same thing in your place.
In character Tilantre was still fuming a bit about being shot, Though he knew they were trying to stop him from attracting the attention of the dragon. His shout from being shot could of gotten the dragon's attention as well. He decided to spend his time scouting in front of the group to be alone and also to keep himself busy.

We hardly use it but you can also choose the Specific Action: if you want the Dungeon Master to focus on a specific action and not with all your role-play. You can see how to do it if you click on the "Role-playing Game Etiquette" button to the top left. That may save you next time you want to meet the dragon and Krusten is at your back. .
