Out of Character: I will get the wagon off somewhere, maybe we can make it look abandoned and raided while keeping an eye on it from the woods.
"You only wanted to wait one night?" Avan asks. "This is better for my plan. So who wants to be armed and disguised?" He asks as he holds up one of the green uniforms.
Albrecht knows that the uniforms are unlikely to fit him and that it may be difficult to cut them down to size properly, so he volunteers to stay back or to appear as a wondering hermit (Which he is quite accustomed to being). He also suggests maybe to appear as a prisoner that the ones dressed in 'uniform' are bringing to the castle.
"I will also pretend to be a prisoner," Avan responds. "Albrecht, they can't notice us carrying weapons. I plan to throw flames in case I can't get back in the wagon. Do you have a backup plan?"
Krusten and Zork, did you want the disguises?"
He shakes Tilatre awake to ask the same question.
Out of Character: Follow up thought on the ladder, it has to be at least 33 feet long. How would we hide it?
We may have to put all our eggs in one basket and just hope the disguises work.
Out of Character: The best way to use the ladder is to go at night, when it is dark and easier to sneak up. We could cast several obscuring mist spells and then carry the ladder through to cross the chasm. It would be hard to get up the wall afterwards though. Maybe someone has a darkness spell? Or we can tie it to the wagon and just drive up. Even if they shoot at the wagon, we should be able to make it to the chasm and then just have to be quick about getting across and up to the wall. Hmm....
Krusten hears the men talking about a ladder so while placing one hand on her waist and using her other hand to make a point she says,
"So you want to climb the walls of a place we don't know yet? What if they're friendly? What if you get there and they kill you at top, then what?"
She exchanges the rolls of her hands by moving her other hand to her waist and now uses her other hand for pointing.
"Further more, I thought we going to walk up to the bridge in costume?"
As always Faerydae does not have a strong opinion and only goes with the consensus. She listens but does not try to give alternative plans unless for the current one isn't realistic. Not having a better plan herself she stays quiet.
"It's just an alternative," Avan reassures Krusten. He drops the section he was working on, "But this is taking a long time and you raise valid points. If we head over there in disguise, we will glean more information. Even if they chase us away, we can return with a better plan."
"Did we want to head over there today? Or tomorrow? Perhaps we should approach half an hour before dusk, so they will not see our details from afar."
Out of Character: Alchyrogue, I thought you of all people would have calculated the Pythagorean. The ladder should be long enough to both cross the chasm and scale the wall.
