
Army Briefing Tells Soldiers Christians and Pro-Lifers are a "Radical" Threat
A new Fox News report issued today says soldiers attending a pre-deployment briefing at Fort Hood were told that Christians and conservative political advocates are a threat to the nation. They were also informed that pro-life advocates are "radical."
From the report by Todd Starnes: A soldier who attended the Oct. 17th briefing told me the counter-intelligence agent in charge of the meeting spent nearly a half hour discussing how evangelical Christians and groups like the American Family Association were 'tearing the country apart." There has been a "Shooting incident" At Fort Hood that is being handled by the military, according to the Bell County Sheriff's Office in central Texas. Fort Hood has confirmed only an "Incident on post." No other details were immediately available. Ref. CNN
A Fort Hood shooter is said to be at large, officials separately tell CNN's Pam Brown and Brian Todd. Security personnel are pursuing a suspect.
And Fort Hood says there have been injuries reported in the shooting on post, and emergency crews are on the scene. Ref. CNN
Four people died -- including the suspected shooter -- in the shooting at Fort Hood, said Lt. Gen. Mark A. Milley, the Army base's commanding general. Milley said there were also 16 injured.
The suspect, a veteran of combat in Iraq, took his own life, Milley said. He was being treated for mental issues. Ref. CNN

The three soldiers killed in Wednesday's shooting at Fort Hood, Texas, have been identified as Sgt. Danny Ferguson, Sgt. Carlos A. Lazaney and Sgt. Timothy Owens.
The shooting rampage by Spc. Ivan Lopez also left 16 others wounded. Lopez killed himself after the attack Ref. CNN
Spc. Ivan Lopez opened fire in the Fort Hood personnel office after being told he could not have a leave form that day, according to the father of one of the soldiers wounded.
Theodis Westbrook, the father of Sgt. Jonathan Westbrook, told CNN affiliate WLBT that Lopez was told to come back the next day to pick up the form. Lopez returned a short time later with a gun and opened fire, Theodis Westbrook said.
Law enforcement sources tell CNN that investigators are continuing to search for possible motives for the shootings on Wednesday. Ref. CNN
