Judge slams Idol for 'losing focus'

It seems as if all the buzz about American Idol has been on the status of the judges and not the talent, and Randy Jackson said that needed to change. Ref. Source 7

After listening to the 12 females yesterday I feel only a couple of them have a chance. The others are not good and Simon was right on with his critique. Like he said... he's only saying what we're thinking.

The truth is that I do not see the "strong" group of girls this year they are all referring to but again, yesterday was their first time and nervousness take a bigger role than expected. Let's see how the guys do today. My favorite to win is Andrew Garcia.

I have not watched American Idol this season much. Not out of protest, but out of having better things to watch. I think American Idol has run its course this year. It may go on for a couple more years but I think this is it's last big year. Without Paula the show has lost much of it's steam and appeal.

Many young ones who do not care about such things will continue to vote but I predict a falling in people watching and participating. It is no longer a light hearted search for a good singer. It has become a cumbersome machine in search of ratings.

I think it was more the duo Abdul-Cowell. I do not think Paula was that icon on the show to be honest. Half of the time she seemed over the top like she was either on meds or intoxicated.

Was it ever? This kind of show's MAIN purpose is always to attract ratings, it is never about finding a good singer.

About the show last night, I think they are overrating Casey (the blond guy). Yes, he has a nice voice but not that wow. Andrew Garcia still my favorite to win the whole competition even though his song choice wasn't that great.

We're enjoying it this year, even with the over-the-top antics of Kara about that Casey guy. Whatever! He's not that great in looks or singing, in my opinion.

We really like Michael Lynche (even though I doubt he will win - he's not the type) and Andrew Garcia - he's a local boy! Moreno Valley is just 20 miles from here.

The girls Lilly, Crystal, and Lacey, even though all three did kind of poorly, as well as Lee Dwyze for the boys who did poorly but has a great sound.

I was kind of surprised at how Ellen Degeneres is doing as a judge. I think she's doing a good job so far, kind of a fill-in for Paula.

I was very disappointed Joe was sent home over the boy next to him who sang terrible yesterday BUT who the judges told him he would probably stay because of his good looks. Sick!

That whole Kara liking the supposed model with a guitar is nasty. How can she be behaving like that on national television and then her husband actually has to start attending the show to keep him in check.
