The Architect was the represented the Source in which it does not believe in choice for the humans as which the oracle was the very opposite of the source reasoning ans chaos.

The Architect RPG Plugged Trilogy Matrix

Just merely stating the facts that he represents the source and that if he did state that he was the creator of the matrix then he could find the exiles and delete them he is much like a Admin and the Agents aka Sentinels are the Mod the help govern the matrix.

Also, why didn't Neo just take him out there instead of just walking through the door?
