1,800 experience will put Durgan well into second level, making him an adept. Should I add an additional 10% for having a wisdom above 15, for a total of 1980?
Does he need to be initated into the adept role by his church or any other church?
Speaking of which I would like to find out more info about the temple he was at and the god it serves, as well as any other temples on temple road. I'd prefer if you did it in game when Durgan returns.

Yes add in your 10% for the higher wisdom level and go ahead roll for your added hit points. You do not need to train with a church.
I will add more about that temple and what you found when you return to that temple. Same with any other temples that you wish to visit.
