Jesla has all the subtlety of a tank! You have me rolling over here Kyrroeth with your roleplay biggrin.gif Archival was using the weretiger as a subtle example of there being exceptions to the rule. He didn't expect Jesla to actually "Out herself," so to speak.

She is a barbarian after all. Jesla is very different from what I'm used to roleplaying. It is a fun adjustment playing her. I don't want her to come off as the typical stupid barbarian. She isn't subtle or tactful though *smile*.

I guess we'll see just how attentive the other people in the room are being. Technically Jesla didn't say she was a weretiger outright. Just gave a big hint.

And phew, I have to say I was worried there the rift would keep growing.

Me too, I've just been flooded with study and work as soon as semester started. My posting may be intermittent for the next month even!

Gems are noted. Kyrroeth, if you want to swap the gems so this one applies to Charisma and the previous to Wisdom, I will not mind. Last time you mentioned wanting to play a low wisdom, and charisma may end up being useful soon.

Indeed, it is Fast advancement, I will try to check XP totals, but I haven't updated my spreadsheet in a while and am busy.

Regarding working using Diplomacy, I'm having a hard time seeing why they wrote the capital earning rules that way. Craft and Profession should have to be specified so won't always apply to all four sources of capital 9my opinion). Diplomacy for Influence seems like a good fit, and Labor at a stretch. But I digress.

Diplomacy is already such a good skill to have, even without it letting you earn money. The only reference I can see to support it is the Caravan vanity in Pathfinder Society Field Guide, where you own a share in a caravan and have to deal with all the overhead of running it, without actually taking part in the journeys it makes. It mentions "Representing the caravan’s interests to important merchants, politicians, and aristocrats." Which, again, is you (See my recent complaints about the Influence capital, wherever I posted them). If you want to work as the kingdom's diplomat, well, that's already your responsibility and you get full benefits from that.

Additionally, a lot of diplomacy related jobs are not just the ability to talk to people really well. Judges, diplomats, bosses, salesmen and even philosophers all have specialised knowledge of their field, I'm sure even mediators have to study a bit of psychology. Just being friendly will net you contacts, but how many will give you money?

I think the Profession skill would be a much better fit for that work, or potentially Perform (Oratory) which also has rules support. I can also tell that it is not gamebreaking, and at the cost of a feat I would allow it and some other additional benefit, something along the lines of Improvisation or a Bard's Versatile Performance. Eg, Diplomacy to 2 Profession skills, or Profession and perform, or the other way, 2 unconventional skills can be used for making money. Perhaps even as a trait - we can work out details.

Caelum gets multiple opinions about Archival from the people he meets. Many believe he is a proper noble of station higher than they will ever achieve and that comes with mixed reactions, either distancing, subservience, mistrust, or fear. Others believe he is not impartial enough to preside over small disputes, particularly when the Kamelarn is the defendant. Others still Archival also gets the feeling that people do honestly get to like him while he's talking, but the opinion fades soon, either people's short memories or other people in town convincing them of the opposite.

What I said in the topic regarding subtypes has been superseded by new info. The evil subtype can be lost and it causes greater transformations in the demon/devil, presumably because it is made of evil quintessence derived from sinful souls. Strong forces can remove the alignment of quintessence, so even subtypes are mutable, along with the natural abilites of outsiders. Daishain was right.

ICon Kingmaker Pathfinder Rules, Setting, Question

    Game Master says...

Let's discuss Leadership, reputation and relationships. Because the campaign revolves around people you meet, these will come into play.
There's a few options here as well. I could be boring and just allow Leadership as a feat and use Paizo's simple Relationships system. However, they are very simplified and not ideal systems unless I get a lot of say in how they are used.

There is also the Ultimate Intrigue book that I haven't read. It introduces new feats similar to Leadership as well as clarifications for the existing rules. At a glance the Influence rules seem to replace both reputation and relationships with either individuals or whole organizations and are done mostly as a group.

Ultimate Charisma takes a lot of the guesswork out of my hands by presenting solid rules for it, by introducing a Leadership Score for all players and Leadership Perks to pick every second level. One line of perks make lone wolf characters effective. Another perk gives the +1 to kingdom checks and +3 in mass combat that the Leadership Feat would normally grant (I.e. It is not automatic, you need a perk, but you get lots of perks). It also has solid rules for Relationships which build on Paizo's original rules, expanding them greatly. The checks made monthly as opposed to every level. The issue is with the increase in complexity, I need to figure out a good way to record all this, or leave it in your hands as the players.
If we do want to take that route, Ultimate Charsima is currently on sale on DriveThruRPG, ending in 2 days! I do not have the same glowing review Thomaslee gave it, but it deserves at least 4 stars. Note that the writer is a fan of Kitsune and they are prominent in the art.

Or I can just wing it all, which I think is unsatisfying and prone to error. The only advantage is it's fast for me because there's less record keeping overhead.

*shrug* Back in the day I had submitted a build to you in which you had approved of me taking both Leadership and Landlord (From 3.x). This was after we had decided the build I had for Summoner was going to be too strong and overshadow others. I'll go along with whatever you decide.

ICon Kingmaker Pathfinder Rules Setting Question D&D / Pathfinder Archive - Page 54

I'm wishing I had known the Pathfinder rules better when I rolled up Jesla. I could have easily bought her a combat trained tiger or lion. It's amazing how cheap they are. The issue now is they won't be available in a community of our size for quite some time. The option of a dire bat is affordable as well. Having the ability to fly would definitely aid in exploring and protecting the kingdom.

As to the leadership and relationships issue I'm not sure. I have no experience with any of those that you mentioned Icon. I will leave that up to you and the other players experienced in the matter. I realy hate to add much more record keeping on you Icon. This campaign has an insane amount of record keeping for you already.
