Gabriel will prepare as well, taking out his shield and morningstar as he readies himself for whatever unknown may come. Speaking, he says softly, "Still, be prepared. A sleep spell may be helpful, yet let's not rely on it to end the battle. While many may slumber, others may yet stay awake."
"Are we sure these people will be affected by a sleep spell? Could it be undead just dressed up nice? My eyesight can not tell the difference in the dark. If you can put them to sleep so be it and we can get inside faster to the fight."
The party gathers around the mouth of the cave taking up defensive positions. Jess stands behind a tree with her bow ready while Delgar moves closer to the cave mouth in order to have a better view should a spell be needed.
Hunter finds a decent sized branch and tosses into the cave mouth. It flies about 15' into the cave, lands with a crack on the smooth red tile of the hallway and slides for another 10' before coming to a rest in the main corridor, itself.
Once it stops, the silence is deafening and Hunter is unable to detect any further movement or signs of life beyond the entrance.
Gabriel moved to stand at front with Drethen to his right, positioning himself at the head of the party as ever one else gets into position.
Yet what bothered him is that when Hunter tried throwing a branch inside there was no movement or reaction from within, leaving an uncertain silence.
"Should we get out a torch, see if it might light up the cave a bit," the paladin asks, before offering in a determined tone, "I am willing to head in first, despite the danger."
Hunter twists his lip and sighs, "Well that did nothing expect let them know someone is here."
Not being the 'brave' one he waits a bit and sees if someone will do something first.
Hunter says, "I have a bullseye lantern here just for you." He points it at the cave entrance lighting up everything in there. He then rests it on the ground as he wants to keep his bow ready.
