Good question! Hm, let's see… Barring more info from Chasorth, I'm not sure that we have enough information to really chase down any leads with confidence, so Velon's opinion would probably be to give Lawrance a long rope here. Will Lawrance be retiring nightly from the library, at least to the Inn? If so they could get updates from him. Perhaps Velon wouldn't really be concerned until several days had passed?

Velon would really also like to pursue setting a meeting with the wizard we saw in the pool who was eager to be rid of the mask. It seems like too good of an opportunity.
He would like to learn more of the wizard so they could set a meeting with him regarding other business. If they knew more of the wizard perhaps they could actually obtain something that would interest him, so the meet wouldn't be a total ruse and waste of the wizard's time. Perhaps he is into specific magic items, perhaps something more mundane but valuable such as fine art. What is the best way to pursue this? Not sure how they could learn more about him. Not really sure I want Mari just flat out using the Zhent network to set a meet, since all are enemies even if the wizard might play nice.

To be in character, Lawrance will almost literally have to be dragged away from the Library. I'm sure there are facilities inside the library for washing and sleeping, so he won't leave if given the choice. Dai, please find below various rolls, as requested. If the days pass and Lawrance gets the information needed, he will also research the Sea that the person we came to find is lost in. Perhaps that's our next Quest?
Cinder, Lawrance did start some threads with Mari for locating/contacting that wizard, but nothing has updated regarding that. We could also use a Sending spell, but we may have to learn more about him in order to qualify as 'familiar with'.
*NOTE * I messed up and reverse the bonuses for the last two rolls. Please adjust results accordingly.

Could you imagine the number of Hold Person spells the guards have available to resist against? :D Those mesmerized researchers and their parties trying to rescue them from the hypnotizing clutches of all those books!
Just as an afterthought and for RP purposes, if Lawrance finished all the above, or if he finds time during those days, he will consult with a Cleric of Oghma and see if there really is something going on with his sudden surge of knowledge.
