That's what I get for being sucker for the classics when it comes to riddles. I did go for the more challenging variant. The one where there's just the truth speaker and the liar is just a wee bit too easy.
There's an even tougher version out there, same setup, but you don't understand the language being spoken. So you also have to figure out whether or not a particular response is yes or no.

(Laugh), funny, because I was thinking about the equal but opposite. Velon has 8 INT, so math and logic puzzle should not be his strong suit. It seems far more appropriate to me that the wizard answer the puzzle than anyone else, so I say have at it if you like.
Unless we are to let D20's answer the puzzle via INT checks rather than actually solving it in our heads, I think all such puzzles in Dungeons & Dragons end up being pretty meta. At least one can try to stay true to their character and not answer if they are playing Grog from CR Season 1. I think Lawrance answering is the most non-meta in character thing we can do.
(I have not checked anyone else's INT score, by the way, so am just assuming not many others would have reason to put points in INT beyond Velon's favorite wizard.).
The Knight, Knave and Joker riddle has always been one of the staples of puzzles, and logic puzzles were something I dove into as a kid. The ones that really would send me for a loop were the paradoxes, or Fermian puzzles and others like that, where you actually had to dig pretty deep before the loops and reiterations became known.
Tazskan's Intelligence is only 10, so unfortunately, his math's and logic are not very high either.
So it wouldn't be fair to answer it in character either.
But for an out of game, stab in the dark?
"I would assign each of the guardians a letter, X, Y, Z."
"I would ask the guardian labelled X, is the guardian that always answers the truth, standing in the center"?
"I would ask the guardian labelled Y, are you to the left of X,"?
"I would ask the guardian labelled Z, is Y always telling the truth,"?
But, really its all quite confusing, isn't it? Two of the answers, would be the same. Except one wouldn't be telling the truth. The one with the less, "Agreed" answers, more likely a random.
Well, Poljen is not dumb, but he certainly is not versed in riddles. And neither am I. I went and looked a solution up just for my own peace of mind. If Lawrance can answer it, and no one else wants the 'credit,' I say go for it.
Though assuming we get this second one correct, I got dibs on asking if we can get a bonus prize if we get the third riddle, too!
I was hoping to hear just a bit more from Thomas, but no such luck.
With that in mind, I'm going to do a bit of retconning.
It wasn't expressed while you were there, but King Melendrach has particular need of people with insight into the world of the Drow.
I am going to say that he asked Zarra to stay with him, as an honored advisor, and she accepted.
How long this appointment will last is going to be up to Thomas.
I am sorry about this, particularly since I know times are tough for him. But it has been a long time since I've been sure when or if Thomas will appear in either of the games he is in.
P.s. Sorry for preempting your dibs Paul, but I'd already planned for such. .

No worries, Daishain. I had a feeling…
And the funny thing is I once upon a time knew the answer to this logic puzzle. I am wracking my brains and hope to figure it out before the answer is posted. Regardless, Poljen just looks stumped…
