With the day wearing down, Albrecht tries to find a nice glade or field to make camp for the night. He looks for a place that can give them clear line of sight around them. As they settle down for camp, Albrecht offers to create water for anyone who needs it. He then tries to decide on the best course of action for camp, offering his services to find food and some materials to make shelter.
Avan pitches his new tent against the wagon, strikes up a campfire and tells the ranger to start cooking. He will take some of the water offered to fill his waterskin. His cat impatiently paws at the uncooked rabbits. He starts by performing some of the stretches and balancing exercises with his tome laid open as a reference, but as night falls he resumes reading by the light of the fire.
Since starting this book, he seems to have gotten a lot less talkative.
Out of Character: Actually, taking a quick look at my inventory, It seems a waterskin was not among my recent purchase of camping supplies. I know you warned us KNtoran, but is it too late to include that purchase?
Zork makes routine checks of his horse, the wagon, the surroundings, etc. This time he wants to find any scouts that might be working for the brigands informing them about our approach.
At the relevant time Zork encourages a camp by the war wagon, etc. He shares a bit of the excellent wine to ease everyone's nerves. During the night he will take watch and in the morning return to the same routine.
Avan had refused Zork's generous offer of wine, and went to bed after finishing his exercises. On last watch, while still dark, he says his prayers to the shadowy aspects of nature and swaps one Cure Minor Wounds for Create Water, to help relieve Zork's worry of the wagon catching alight.
Avan continues to read, oblivious to anything happening, unless the wagon suddenly lurches, either accelerating or stopping.
On the other hand, Mr Fluffles sniffs at the air as he watches through an arrow hole.
Out of Character: I'll take that offer of the water skin if that's all I can get, and I'll assume it's got a nice, thick lining to prevent it from tearing easily. Edited: iCon on 3rd May, 2016 - 1:55am
In Character Arkanoth will quietly hum to himself as he watches from the back of the wagon for anything that could be deemed a threat.
Meditation, prayer and occasionally conversing with the druid is what Faerydae does to pass the time. She does not accept any wine preferring to keep herself alert.
Krusten take in a bit of the wine and roasted rabbit making sure to share some with her bird. She will be on watch the the first few hours before sunlight.
Out of Character: First roll is for the night and second roll is for the morning.
In Character:Albrecht offers to help keep watch, but it seems Zork is adamant that he keep watch, so Albrecht lets him. Albrecht also refuses Zork's offer of wine, preferring to sleep naturally. Right at dawn, he awakens and goes a little ways into the woods to commune with nature for an hour, renewing his bond and his magic. After his morning prayers, Albrecht returns to break down his lean-to of sticks and leaves and putting away his bedroll. He also carefully scatters the fire, making sure nothing will rekindle.
Albecht then takes up his post, riding Champ and searching the roadway for any clues or tracks that might be related to the bandits, and Champ sniffs the air and ground occasionally checking for any threatening scents. About midday the ranger seems to stiffen and go on alert, saying something to Zork. Albrecht rides up to the ranger and Zork to see what could be the matter.
Out of Character:Albrecht keeps the same spells for today. Do you allow repeated castings of the Orisons (0th level spells)? I know many Dungeon Masters place limitations on something like cure light wounds so that it can only heal 25% HP and all of the spells carry the caveat not to spam it, but just for general utility (Like create water 3 times/ day, etc)?
