Arriving in the Capital City, I'm look around at all the buildings as we go along. As the others go about getting there rewards and items ordered and paid for as will as getting the items I need from the loan Bastion gave me. I will then continue to explore the City. Finding a small Inn on the outskirts of the city I go in, order and pay for an ale then find a table near the back and sit and listen for any info I may gather.
In contrast to Avan, Bastion is seeking out opportunities that avoid the desert. In his judgement, the group already proved unprepared to deal with the draconids and their mistress. Albrecht unexpectedly choosing to walk away certainly did not help matters in that regard. No, barring a large number of reinforcements from some source, it will be some time before a return trip would be feasible.
So for now, he's looking for a task that he knows would be within his and Avan's capabilities, in order to assess where the other two are and allow them to gain some experience in the field. With luck, that would bring the group up to four proven combatants, enough to handle more difficult jobs.
Unfortunately, not being very good at connecting with others, he's likely not making much progress. Edited: daishain on 28th Feb, 2018 - 5:17pm
Upon hearing the news of the undead, I stay a bit longer then go seek out Bastion. Once I find him, I well tell him what I hear in the Tavern and where it was. Afterwards I ask, "Think we could handle it and help them out?"
Rivoril, soon catches up with Arilynia and Bastion in the local tavern. He says that he, himself hasn't found any work yet, nor had any rumors.
He overhears, her speak about news of undead.
Bastion thinks in response to Arilynia's query, "Hmm, that depends on things we don't know. We can certainly cut down a group of simple zombies. But some of the more powerful varieties, if present, would be quite problematic without a potent cleric or paladin at least shielding us from them however. The same story goes if a particularly potent necromancer is behind the group."
"Perhaps we could find a cleric of Lathander or another undead hating deity willing to accompany us? If not, maybe we can shield ourselves a little better with a few scrolls. Lets ask around the local temples, see if they're willing to offer some aid in this regard."
Out of Character: Hmm, I wish Riv had invested in the UMD skill, it would come in handy right now. Edited: daishain on 1st Mar, 2018 - 6:43pm
"I have still been mourning and busy getting my armor," Avan admits. "If we are going to get information, help, and supplies from the temple I will go as ask for communication with his spirit."
While at the temple, Avan pulls a more senior cleric aside and asks if there's some way to know the wishes of the departed and if it's different for animals, considering their close bond. Basically a casting of Speak with Dead while Avan has Speak with Animals active.
"Bastion, I think I will have a scout around and see if there be any Cleric's, that might help with our endeavor," Rivoril says.
"Also I may, have another look and see if there also be any work,"? He adds.
Rivoril, indicates to both Bastion and Arilynia that he will meet them back again in the tavern.
Specific Action: Searching, and gathering info. For Clerics, with spare time on their hands. In usual haunts, like temples, and monastery's. That wouldn't mind helping a small band of adventurers dispatch troublesome, undead creatures.
He wears his monk, outfit for this work. (Will post a couple of rounds)
Also searching and gathering info. For casual work as a Locksmith, in prisons, and Blacksmiths.
He wears his scholars outfit for this work.
Upon learning of the cleric Rivoril found, Bastion will explain what is known of the situation.
"That is all we know for now unfortunately. We should be able to get a better picture when we speak with those local to the area."
"As for you, in essence, we would like you to act as support. If a necromancer or undead of a type more dangerous than simple skeletons or zombies shows up, we would ask you to do your best to defend against the threat and/or enable us to strike back effectively. If you can manage that, we should be able to take care of the heavy lifting when it comes to clearing out the horde. Is this something we can count on you for?"
