Character Description
6'10", 325 lbs, broad of chest and shoulder.
Skin is pale with mild blue-grey hue. Hair is the color of ash. His chest and upper arms are adorned with permanent tribal markings (typical of those given to boy of 8-10 years where he comes from, not that he remembers such customs well) and one side of his face is branded with the mark of minor lord of the far north, identifying Skreed as property of that lord and his house.

Trait: I place no stock in wealthy or well mannered folk. Money and Manners won' save you from hungry owl bear.
Ideal: Might ~ The strongest are meant to rule.
Bond: I will bring terrible wrath down upon the evildoers who destroyed my homeland
Flaw: Don' expect me to save those who can' save themselves. It is natures way that the strong thrive and the weak perish.
Character History
Given (as tribute/peace offering) to northern warlord at young age, Skreed spent most of his childhood and adolescence earning position of trust and respect within his lord and master's household. As the warlord grew more powerful and eventually established seat of power (keep) for himself he named Skreed his headsman, position the Goliath with the same sense of duty as anything else he might have been asked to do over the dozen or more years he lived in the warlord's service.

Eventually Skreed encountered another of his kind... and elderly woman taken alone in the mountains by one of the warlords patrols. The aged one had been brought back to the warlord's capital to serve as cook and maid, duties she performed with an obvious air of disdain for her captors. The old woman and Skreed did not get along well at first. She objected to how readily Skreed complied with the requests of their captors. He saw it differently. He barely remembered what it was like before he came into the warlord's service and had long since learned that hard work and loyalty would be rewarded here.

It took time, but after some months the old woman and Skreed began to forge an awkward bond. She would remind him of his heritage and defiantly speak to him in the language he had been forbidden to use for so long. She even helped him understand the meaning and significance of the tribal markings he'd received as youth among his clan. Having someone to talk to seemed to have an impact on the old woman as well. She still made no qualms about showing her distaste for their situation, but she became more careful about how much she acted out and who might see her as she felt it was somehow her duty to teach and guide the younger Goliath in the ways of his people.

One fateful afternoon as Skreed approached the female servants' quarters to check in on the ancient one. He saw one of the warlord's lieutenants walking away from the circle of shabby huts that housed the cooks and washerwomen, wiping his dagger clean as he walked. Skreed thought nothing of it until he got to the old woman's hut and found her bleeding on the floor. The next morning the lieutenant was found behind the stables, his head caved in with rock the size of cask of ale.

In spite of his massive size, no one had seen or heard Skreed leave that night. The warlord's hounds tracked him as far as large cairn near creekbed several miles south of the stronghold but could not pick up his scent thereafter.

Stone's Endurance: Use reaction to reduce damage taken by d12+Con Mod once per short or long rest
Reckless Attack: When making first melee attack (using strength), can decide to attack with advantage. Attack rolls against me have advantage until next turn.
Danger Sense: Adv on Dex saving throws against effects I can see (Traps, spells, etc). Cannot be blinded, deafened or incapacitated to benefit from this.
